KULPMONT — A presentation featuring historic photos of the Anthracite coal region will be held next week in Kulpmont. Organizers say the program will highlight images from Centralia, Shamokin, Mount Carmel, and surrounding communities.
The Shamokin Creek Restoration Alliance says photographer Mike Molesevich will present the program March 21 from 3pm to 5pm. Organizers say the event will take place at the West End Fire Company on Maple Street.
Officials say Molesevich photographed coal region sites beginning in the 1970s. Organizers say images include the Centralia mine fire, abandoned collieries, and other historic mining scenes.
