DANVILLE — Montour County leaders are moving forward with new rules for data centers.
Montour County commissioners unanimously approved a 26-page amendment to the county zoning ordinance. They say the changes are designed to better regulate future data center development.
The proposal increases setback distances from roads and neighboring properties and raises the maximum permitted building height. Commission Chairwoman Rebecca Dressler says the height change could reduce how much land must be disturbed during construction.
The Montour County Planning Commission has already approved the proposal. A public hearing is scheduled at 10am at the County administration center. The proposal is available at the administration center and on the county website.
