ALLENTOWN — PPL Electric Utilities is planning a major transmission upgrade across the Susquehanna Valley.
PPL says it will rebuild about 37 miles of the Sunbury-Frackville 230-kilovolt transmission line. Officials say the project runs through Northumberland, Snyder, and Schuylkill counties. Hundreds of property owners will see crews on, or near their properties.
PPL says the upgrade will improve reliability, reduce outages, and support growing power demand. They say the work will also help protect the grid from extreme weather and allow future renewable energy connections.
