CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. — A trooper was killed after a shooting in Chester County on Sunday.
Chester County County Commissioner Eric Roe confirmed that Corporal Tim O’Connor died after being shot at while he was attempting to make a traffic stop in West Caln Township Sunday evening. Governor Josh Shapiro issued a statement after the shooting death.
He said, “Tonight, Pennsylvania tragically lost one of our finest when State Police Corporal Tim O’Connor was killed in the line of duty. I was at Paoli Hospital this evening with Corporal O’Connor’s wife Casey and his parents Maureen and Tim. My heart breaks for Tim and Casey’s young daughter and their entire family. Lori and I mourn with the Pennsylvania State Police family and with all of our law enforcement partners. I’ve directed flags across our Commonwealth to be lowered Monday in honor of Corporal O’Connor.”
