EAST BUFFALO TOWNSHIP — In the Lewisburg area, a morning fire on Baylor Boulevard damaged a home but caused no injuries. The Public Information Officer for the William Cameron Engine Company, JR Erdly, says crews were dispatched at 8:20am.
He says, with aid from the Milton Fire Department, firefighters limited damage to a natural gas fireplace insert and the surrounding wood frame. He says the home sustained smoke and water damage.
Officials say the occupants were home, discovered the fire, and reported it. Firefighters say the homeowners are insured and declined assistance from the American Red Cross. The cause was ruled accidental and involved the fireplace insert.
