LEWISBURG — A tragic crash in the Lewisburg area Sunday night claimed one life and left two others seriously injured.
The accident happened around 9pm on Colonel John Kelly Road in Kelly Township. State police say a vehicle slid off the roadway, struck an embankment, and then hit a tree.
A rear-seat passenger, 29-year-old Matthew Eberly of Lewisburg, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers say the driver, 18-year-old Shawn Miller of Watsontown, and another passenger, 18-year-old Greg Martin of Mifflinburg, both suffered serious injuries and were transported to WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital and Geisinger Medical Center for treatment.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash. No information on seat belt usage was provided in a state police news release overnight.
