Vehicle Restrictions Planned For I-80, I-81
HARRISBURG — PennDOT and the PA Turnpike plan vehicle restrictions beginning today (Sunday) at 3pm because of the snowfall. PennDOT says drivers are urged to avoid unnecessary travel and monitor 511PA.
Tier 1 restrictions will affect Interstates 80 (from I-81 to the New Jersey border) and all of Interstate 81. Also included are Interstates 76, 78, 83, 84, 95, 283, 295, 380, 476 and others.
The restrictions ban certain commercial vehicles, school buses, RVs, motorcycles, and vehicles towing trailers will not be permitted. Speed limits may be reduced to 45 mph, and commercial vehicles must move to the right lane. Road conditions and updates are available at 511PA.com or the 511PA app.
