HARRISBURG — Some state grant funding is heading to 30 fire and EMS companies serving our region. State house member David Rowe says the awards come through the Pennsylvania Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program and can be used for construction, equipment, repairs, or debt reduction.
Among the largest grants, Chief Logan Volunteer Fire Department in Lewistown received $25,250, while 10 EMS agencies were awarded $15,000 each. Rep. Rowe says many of the companies are volunteer-run and rely on this funding to make critical equipment upgrades. The grants are funded through slot machine gaming proceeds.
