WILLIAMSPORT — A 66-year-old man died after a crash involving a Williamsport city bus evening. The Lycoming County Coroner’s Office identifies the victim as Dermot McDonnell of Daugherty’s Run Road. Authorities say he was driving on West Fourth Street when his vehicle struck the rear of a bus at Poplar Street.
Williamsport Bureau of Fire crews pulled him from the wreckage, administered CPR and he was taken to UPMC Susquehanna Hospital. The coroner says McDonnell was pronounced dead around 6:30pm. The corner says the crash remains under investigation by city police and the coroner’s office.
