MILFORD TOWNSHIP — The Juniata County Coroner has released the name of a man killed in a hunting incident. The coroner reports the victim is 26-year-old Floyd Wengerd of McAlisterville. He was accidentally shot during a deer drive (when hunters move through the woods to push deer to standers).
The Mifflin County Coroner says Wengerd died from a type of shock after being shot in the hip. He was taken to Geisinger Lewistown Hospital and died just after noon. The state Game Commission says the incident remains under investigation.
