BERWICK — NorthcentralPA.com is reporting… Police in Berwick say a couple was identified in a retail theft case after using a store rewards card during nine self-scan incidents. Officers say Weis Markets loss prevention staff reported unscanned items totaling $768 between mid-August and early October.
Investigators say surveillance video showed 22-year-old David Arnold and 22-year-old Megan Frye using a club card tied to Arnold’s mother. Police say both admitted they routinely forgot to scan items. Arnold and Frye, both from Berwick, face misdemeanor retail theft charges, and their hearings are set for Jan. 12.
