MILTON — A longtime Salvation Army volunteer says Valley families rely on the Here. For Good. campaign each holiday season. Alice Murray says she helps with youth groups, kettle bells, and sign-ups because the work strengthens struggling families.
She says many residents’ seeking assistance are young mothers juggling several children while facing significant hardships. Murray says one grandmother is raising a granddaughter after the child’s mother died.
Organizers say the Here. For Good. campaign continues the Needy Family Fund, which has raised $3.8 million since 1987. This year’s goal is $175,000. Donations can be made at Central Penn Bank & Trust or at hereforgoodcampaign.org.
