DANVILLE — A virtual meeting hosted by Talen Energy on is drawing intense attention across Montour County.
The virtual meeting is set for 7pm, comes ahead of the Montour County Planning Commission meeting. The county commissioners plan to vote in December. This issue is Talen’s request to rezone nearly 1,300 acres near the Washingtonville power plant from agricultural and public-semi-public to industrial use.
There has been heated debate, with recent commissioner and zoning meetings packed to capacity. Tempers have flared, accusations have flown, and residents are demanding clarity on the company’s plans.
