SHAMOKIN DAM — A Shamokin Dam man has been sentenced to 10 to 20 years in prison for assaulting a woman in May of 2024. The Daily Item reports 46-year-old Ronald Childress was sentenced in Snyder County Court after pleading guilty to felony aggravated assault. Police say Childress strangled the victim and threatened her with a knife at their home in Shamokin Dam. The newspaper reports Childress also served 12 years in prison for a prior assault conviction in Columbia County.
