SUNBURY – PennLive is reporting… Weis Markets says it discovered that payment card skimmers were being used last fall at checkout lanes at eight stores in Pennsylvania and Delaware.
The company said an investigation concluded that the skimmers may have been capable of capturing track data from payment cards, including PIN data that may have been accessed by an unknown third party.
PennLive reports… Weis Markets said it was not aware of anyone’s information being misused, but that customers should be vigilant to protect against fraud by reviewing account statements, monitoring credit reports, and notifying banks if anything is amiss.
