DANVILLE — The Danville Riverside Food Bank is asking families to pre-register for its large food distribution scheduled for Nov. 8. President Joe Neizer says as many as 600 families could attend, and those not registered may need to wait for remaining food later in the day. He says you have to pre-register:
Saying Quote “So you can do that by calling Good Samaritan Mission at 570-273-2500. There’s a phone system there that will prompt you through the registration, but we’d greatly appreciate everybody to be registered. For this month only if you’re not registered we’re going to politely ask you to come back at 1PM in fairness to those who did register.”
The distribution will take place at the Shiloh Church, the food bank’s regular location. Volunteers are already preparing to meet what Neizer calls an increased community need ahead of the holidays. Again, phone 570-275-2500. He says their participation in the Feed a Friend program led to the pre-registration requirement.
